SMS campaign exceptions

SMS campaign exceptions

These exceptions are only application to Sender IDs on Promotional Routes

  1. Messages to DND numbers will not be delivered.

  2. International content or messages referencing international Organizations such as WhatsApp, FaceBook, etc are not allowed on the route, as they are considered international SMS and would be blocked once spotted by the network operator’s firewall.

  3. SenderIDs cannot contain digits (numeric characters), as messages with such SenderIDs will not be delivered.

  4. Certain keywords like "win," "promo," "free," "Giveaway," "Code" and "Congratulations!!!" (along with similar terms), as well as political content (as notified earlier by the network operators), are prohibited. However, it is important to acknowledge that the operators possess the discretion to block any content or SenderIDs at their own discretion.

  5. SenderIDs used on transactional accounts cannot be used on the promotional account.

  6. Operator's explicit rule for the promotional route is that messages sent between the hours of 8 pm to 8 am will not be delivered, as per the NCC restriction. Hence, they will be queued and sent out after the prohibited hours, which will be 8 am the following day.

  7. SenderIDs on Airtel must be pre-registered before messages with them can be delivered appropriately. In the interim, messages with the SenderIDs to Airtel subscribers may be delivered with a default SenderID. To further iterate, the operators can block contents at their discretion. Also, continuous sending of contents not allowed on the route might lead to the network operator’s blocking the SenderID itself.

8. Special characters such as emojis, symbols, and non-standard characters can add a fun and expressive touch to your text messages. Special characters are defined as any character outside the following: letters A-Z (both uppercase and lowercase), numbers 0-9, full stop, and comma punctuations. Anything outside this definition is likely to be identified as a special character depending on the network provider. And charges may vary.
